STATUS REPORT 2026
Hello everyone. The mornings and evenings are getting colder now.
Autumn has begun — that season that always seems to disappear in the blink of an eye.
First of all, to everyone who came out to see us play outdoors in September for the first time in a while, thank you again so much!!
It made me really happy to actually see everyone’s faces, which is something we don’t get through our usual livestreams.
And being able to talk with you too… yeah, that felt different from before.
How should I put it?
I was happy when people came up and talked to me before too, but I don’t think I was really prepared for it. I couldn’t respond very well, and looking back, I feel like I might have come across a little distant sometimes.
For guys like us, whose only real contact with other people is pretty much at work, streaming on YouTube has become the one place where we can communicate with everyone.
And when I think about it that way, I start thinking, “Man, I’m glad I was born in this era.”
Then that thought keeps spreading — to all of you, to the other members, and everything around us.
Grateful!
As we’ve mentioned on our livestreams, we’re currently working on new music.
We want to carry forward some of the flow from our 2nd album while also expressing a new side of ourselves.
I feel like the only way forward is to keep pushing and stay on the offensive.
We’d really appreciate it if you continue supporting Cocktail Sound from here on out.
Actually, that’s not quite it.
The old songs are Cocktail Sound too.
If we can keep moving forward together with all of it, that would be the best.
Oh yeah. This is going to come completely out of nowhere, but…
Something happened recently that stuck with me.
“Cheer up.”
We say that to people when they’re feeling down, right?
And of course, there’s no doubt that feeling good and having energy is a great place to be.
But I’m sure there are also people who feel like,
“I have to cheer up,”
or,
“It’s not like me to be this down.”
Maybe that comes from a sense of responsibility — not wanting the people around them to worry or feel like they have to look after them.
But even if you force yourself to act cheerful, I think the moment you’re alone again, it can suddenly become painful.
When you’re sad, I feel like you have to face that sadness and work through it before you can really move forward.
Sure, sometimes time itself solves things.
But sometimes those feelings come rushing back, too, and there are moments when it can feel like you’re losing your mind.
When you’re trying to face something and the other person isn’t there anymore,
What should I have done?
What were they thinking?
Was there anything I could have changed?
The only person who can come up with those answers is you.
Reflection, for better or worse, is something that happens entirely within yourself.
And the only person who can blame you for the answers you come up with is you, too.
If any of this feels familiar to you, you’re probably blaming yourself too much.
Please be kind to yourself.
Regret always comes when we look back and think about what happened.
And the fact that you can see things differently now means that, at least in that sense, the person you are today has already taken one step forward from the person you were then.
So if you’re hurting right now, there is absolutely no need to keep blaming yourself.
And if there are memories in there that you love, I really think it’s better to picture those instead.
And yet, I’m exactly the kind of person who’ll casually say,
“Cheer up.”
But when I really stopped and thought about it, what I was actually saying was more like,
“Calm down.”
That’s terrible, isn’t it?
Ten-san, you heartless bastaaaard!!!
There have been a few things lately that made me think about all this.
There was even someone I can’t say these things to anymore.
Even for me, moments like that leave me feeling helpless.
And now we’re heading into autumn for real — that season when people say we tend to get a little gloomy.
But as long as you’re alive and facing forward, things will change.
And when the day comes for me to die, I hope I’ll be right in the middle of wanting to live!
And on October 17th from 3:00 PM!
We’ll be heading to Susukino for a radio-style stream on Oto Doko CONO Station!
See you again!
